Online PF balance check can be conducted by an employee by using portal provided by Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It also provides services in which employees are protected against savings from their regular income.Each month, a sum of money is deducted from an employee’s salary by his / her company towards EPF Contribution. That sum is deposited into the Employee Provident Fund account. Using online facility one can track the status of the balance. There is only one thing one should know – Your PF Account Number.

Online PF Balance Check – How to conduct it in Simple Steps:
Following are the Steps to conduct the online PF Balance check:
Click on “Click here to know Your PF Balance”.
Selecting PF Office State, select the office name from the list.
For example, office state is Maharashtra and region is Bandra, select it from drop-down list, then select office name from the list as below:-
In the next page of the portal, you will see 3 blank fields/boxes followed by your office state and region code.
- Enter the Establishment Code in the third box – which can be of maximum 7 digits.
For example, your establishment code is 090786. Enter 090786 in the third box as below:-
- Enter the extension code in 4th box if the establishment code has any, otherwise leave the field blank.
Enter the PF Account Number in 5th box, which can be maximum of 7 digits.
For example, your PF account number is 786786, Enter 786786 in the 5th box as below:
Now enter your name in the next field as appears in the EPF slip.
Enter your mobile number.
Now tick the ‘I agree’ checkbox to submit the request.
Click on ‘SUBMIT’ button to know the status. You will get the Balance Status. In Case your Balance Status has not been updated, then some error message will appear as below:
Along with the message, the date of available data will be shown and also the last date of the update will be there so that you should know whether your status comes under those dates or not. You should wait for some days and recheck on the online PF balance check portal for the balance status to get updated.
Conducting Online PF balance check via UAN:
UAN is the Universal Account Number which is unique for all individuals enrolled under the EPF scheme. This number does not change when you change your employer or your PF account number. UAN can be generated by logging in to the EPF website. Once you have registered your UAN, you will receive details like EPF balance and other such information on your mobile phone via sms.
Earlier this year, The Ministry of Labor and Employment had asked all organizations and employers to register their employees for the UAN and to ensure that EPF related formalities are up to date for all employees.
Following are the steps to conduct online PF balance check via UAN:
Open the web page http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/
Enter your Universal Account Number of UAN.
Enter your mobile number at which you will receive SMS.
Select your EPF state, and choose your city specific EPF office from the list. For example, if your PF state office is Karnataka and the local office is in Bangalore, then select Bangalore as the city.
Fill in the captcha code that is prompted by the system. Finally you will receive the pin and the EPF balance details on the mobile number that you have furnished.
Online PF balance check can be conducted by both the above mentioned ways. Employee should follow the steps and wait for the update if data is not updated.
If further, the balance is not updated, employee should file a complaint for the resolution.
